Happy Halloween!

Andy and Zach were so excited about Halloween this year. They tried their costumes on more times that I can count! We bought each of the costumes in two sizes because the boys could not make up their minds. They were given the choice of which one they wanted to be and if they were going to be matching or not. In the end, they decided to be "not matching". Andy was our "army guy" and Zach was our "fireman". Notice their pumpkins that we carved. Andy wanted a happy face pumpkin and Zach wanted a spider. They were both very proud of the end results.

Trick-or-Treat!!!

We had a fun night, but missed having Daddy with us. He is on the ship for a little while. We are just thankful that he missed Halloween and not Christmas!

We spent the evening out with two other families. These are some of our boys' best little friends. We trick-or-treated through the shops in downtown Coronado, went to the fall festival at our church, and then stopped at some houses for more candy on the way home.
Zach was the only one who remembered his flashlight and he lit up the night! I love his reflective costume!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday, we spent the day at Bates Nut Farm, which is a pumpkin patch and so much more. We are always impressed with their "Big Mac" pumpkins. They are huge!
Andy and Zach both had a great time riding the ponies.
Look at that smile! Zach loves anything related to animals.
We got to go on a tractor pulled hay ride.
They have a hay maze where we had to find the mailboxes and get our cards stamped.
Then it was time to let the boys choose their little pumpkins to take home.
So many to pumpkins to choose from! We had a really fun day at the farm!

Fire Station Open House

The Coronado Fire Station had their annual Open House last weekend. Everyone we know came out for the fun. The boys got their arms painted.

They took a ride on the little fire engine.

Andy tried out a climbing wall for the first time!
It was a lot harder than he expected.
This year we had two helicopters land in front of our house. It was very exciting for our boys!

Cousin Joe Comes for a Visit

My cousin Joe is out here for some Marine training, so we got to visit with him. The boys thought he was lots of fun! We took him on a walk around Coronado. Thankfully it was a beautiful evening and he got to see a clear view of Point Loma and of course, The Del.

While he was here, it rained for the first time in forever! It has been so long since it has rained, my boys were fascinated. They sat by the window staring out and when they heard cars driving by on the wet roads, Andy asked, "What was that?" Its so funny to me to think about the things we take for granted.

New Bikes

Andy has been doing so well on his tricycle, that we decided we should go ahead and get him a real bike. We chose a little one, so he can easily handle it and hopefully take the training wheels off soon! Zach has been doing well pedaling his little tricycle, so we moved him up to the bigger one. He was thrilled to get a chance to ride the big boy trike!

With two happy little boys, we have been taking many trips around the block. Andy had his first big wipeout today. He made a last minute sharp turn. The bike went one way and Andy went the other way, flying face first into a hydrangea bush. He stood up and started laughing. I was laughing so hard I could hardly ask him if he was okay. His bike now has its first two scratches across the handle bars. He's a tough little guy!
