California Road Trip

In September, we drove up the coast to visit my brother Josh and his family. We took two days to drive and see the beauty of the California coast.

The boys are all loaded up and ready to hit the road!

Our first stop was for lunch in Newport Beach.

We spent the first night in Santa Barbara. It was so beautiful to be right on the water and surrounded by mountains.

Day two... Playing on the beach in Santa Barbara.

Another stop to see the Elephant Seals.

The boys were so excited to finally be at Ocean's house!

Climbing to the top of a Redwood stump.

Our first hike around the camp at Mission Springs where Josh and Robyn live.

Walking around the camp.

Cousins! They had a great time together!

Our family in San Francisco.

The kids in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Ocean and Andy dancing at Pier 39.

Its been a long day. The little ones are asleep and the big guys are ready for ice cream!

The tide pools at Pebble Beach.

Having fun!

Getting everything loaded up for our camping trip.

The whole gang on our camping trip at Big Basin.
We never cease to be amazed by the redwoods!

More hiking and having a great time together!

Building a fort out of the firewood. I wish the pictures showed just how dirty these kids got. They were covered from head to toe!

The little campers are ready for a fire!

After getting cleaned up and changed, the kids enjoyed playing in the tents just before bedtime.

Andy and Selah enjoyed being around each other. Ever since our visit, Andy has been telling us he is ready to "get" a baby sister.

We stayed in a great cabin called the "Happinest".

Getting ready to hit the road again for our ten hour journey home. We will miss being with our cousins!

Andy's First Day of Pre-School

Andy has been begging to go to school, so we finally decided to sign him up for the three year old class. He will be going two mornings a week for just a few hours. He loved his first two days! I have been trying to keep Zach very busy so he won't miss Andy too much!

It is so nice to be able to walk him to school!

Summertime comes to an end...

Summer is by far our favorite time of year. Especially in Coronado where "spring comes in summer". We have been bracing ourselves for the "summer comes in fall" part, but so far we have been thrilled with the lack of heat around here. We had a really fun summer. We spent lots of time at the pool with our friends and every Sunday night at the park for the concert. Matt was gone for training for almost a month in August, so we made lots of plans with our friends. Here are some of our favorite pics from the last few weeks in August and early September...

Hanging out at the pool with our friends.

Eating watermelon after some fun in the sprinkler!

A day at the zoo.

Brothers...
they are still given the choice about whether or not they want to match and most of the time they still enjoy wearing the same things! Daddy says I've brainwashed them.

Learning about states with our big floor puzzle. Andy is like a little sponge. He is always asking a million questions and wanting to learn new things. So much fun! Zach wants to do anything that Andy does and is enjoying learning right along side his brother.

Zach, working on making his push-ups a little more challenging.

When Daddy finally made it home we spent a day at Sea World.

We had a lot of fun, the boys just didn't want to smile for the picture!

A day out at Point Loma.

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Celebrating on the upstairs patio with the favorite mint chocolate, cookies and cream, ice cream cake.
